Another reminder that a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

What does it take to get road races to film more than just the leaders? I'm trying to watch the recording of the NYRR Half Marathon but watching the same person run out in front is not entertaining. Running nerds deserve better and apparently this is my life's mission now.

These track uniforms from the On athletes just look like someone slapped their shorts with chalk. Is it the broadcast? What is that supposed to be?

I ran my second fastest 10K today on icy, muddy, rocky trails so I guess that pent up rage is good for something?

Going to a City meeting next week on reclassifying a street through my neighborhood. We want traffic calming but right now it's a "major collector" sandwiched between two other major collectors. Also attending a community work event in our shared garden space. I will cultivate community dammit.

Cars are killers. Cool cool cool.
“It's not easy to be exact, but studies estimate that tires create anywhere from 10-28% of the world's microplastic pollution, according to National Geographic. These particles don't just disappear — they end up in our water, our soil, and our bodies.”
Scientists make disturbing new discovery while studying human urine samples: 'We urgently need to classify [this]'
A recent study found high levels of two potentially deadly chemicals in humans' urine, raising concerns about tire pollution.

That was a mean lean at the tape for the Houston Half. Mantz is a classy guy for the immediate handshake and acknowledging that Gobena worked harder for that time.

Just watching the Citius Mag doc on Conner Mantz running the Houston Half Marathon when my partner comes in the room and says "oh, is that your friend?"

My new pet peeve is when you drive a big dumb truck and have the regular size snow brush. You're too short to clean your own car, Chad.

I just watched The Wizard of Oz with my partner who "doesn't like musicals" and she knew every single word. She also asked me if there's any talking in Wicked after she found out it is also a musical.
