From a thread with advice for a new cat owner - but I feel this fact is another reason I am sus about people who don’t like cats when they’re not allergic…
Unlike dogs, cats cannot be trained by negative reinforcement. Their minds don't work like that. Rewarding desired behaviour can work, but punishment for undesired behaviour cannot.
