During a bored moment on set, we modified the trim level slightly.

Obviously I'm Metro people now and have no need for an Montego, but if I were in the market for such a thing, 2-litre O-series with manual 'box would be the spec. Fond memories of this old snotbox, used as a site hack on a TG shoot years ago.

The next Range Rover Velar is going to be very fastbacked.

In today's Smith and Sniff, aside from reviewing the new Honda Prelude, Jonny and I talk about the time we were left alone in a room at Google's London HQ and got so bored we covered a whiteboard in made-up business toss. Just found my photo of that...

In today's Smith and Sniff, Jonny and I review the new Honda Prelude. And talk about Stroker Ace and coffee pods. But mainly review the new Prelude. Sadly, it's not a 2.2, yeah? podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/s...

Also, still can't understand the design of the rear doors. Looks like anyone getting in the back will have to post their head through a tiny upper slot.

Has this JLR engineer just banged his head on a new Jag prototype? That open bootlid does look rather low.

Once you have bought and read my new book, why not buy and read the new issue of Copacetic in which I've written a thing about an Lamborghini restomod. Thankingsyou.

Strangely untroubled by any awards, this one.

This any many other pieces of insightful car journalism can be found in my new book. It's a compilation of some of my evo columns from the last 22 years, it's called Petrolhead, and it's out now.

Due a terrible admin error, I have had a monthly column in evo for 22 years and no one has remembered to stop me. So, to celebrate this mistake, I've compiled a load of them into a new book. It's called Petrolhead and it's out on Thursday 9 October.

To record today's Smith and Sniff, Jonny and I sat in a very, very small car in a shopping centre car park. And if you're a member of our Patreon you'll soon be able to watch a video version of this podcast. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/s...

The other weird thing about the Ferrari EV is that both early mule and late prototype have the front wheel arch right back against the leading edge of the front door, like a cheap FWD hatchback. Strange.
September 23, 2025 at 6:15 PM
There have been two phases of prototype for Ferrari's upcoming EV. First, mules that looked like hacked-up Maserati Levantes. Now, production spec cars in boxy camo. Both are an absolute shit show in the wipers department. What on earth is going on there?

Ooh, and furthermore, la la.

Saw one of these Range Rover Velar EV prototypes earlier this week. But it didn't have the fake back on it and you could see the real thing will be VERY fastback. No, I didn't take a photo. As previously established, I'm a useless spy photographer.
