As we have said before the console war is over, the console detente has begun.
A lot of this could have been extrapolated from what's happened, but this definitely fills in some pieces of the puzzle as to some of the moves that Xbox has made over the past couple years.
For the Xbox platform division, hitting 30% profit margins has required a drastic rethink. For individual games, it's not a completely unrealistic target... except they're all released day-one on Xbox Game Pass, cannibalizing sales.

Stuff is certainly coming to the Switch 2 but a lot of the big titles that people might have been anticipating are still waiting to be announced. We discussed how excited (or not) we are for Nintendo's line up in the near term.

This hyper capitalist move just feels bizarre yet also weirdly inevitable. The Sauds get one of the largest AAA publishers in the world with eSports friendly brands like EA FC and Battlefield while EA can maybe try to revive Like Need for Speed without having to worry about quarterly returns.

BREAKING: Xbox is canceling Contraband, announced in 2021 from Avalanche Studios (Just Cause), after four years of radio silence, sources tell Bloomberg News. This news arrives weeks after a mass layoff in which Xbox canceled several other big titles.
