EU rejoin is a *current* Lib Dem policy and one that we ran on in 2024. Simply announcing it isn't an option for the UK. We don't get to tell the EU that we're rejoining without years of prior steps. It will need a careful pathway, such as the one set out below, to make it a reality.

Or the disappearing villages of Bangladesh's mangrove swamps, where millions may be displaced by rising oceans. Villages like Kalabogi, now abandoned, but which where thriving settlements only a few years ago.

Trump's push for Greenland, for example, is part of an Arctic Great Game that has been underway for several years. I realised this when in 2018 I visited Svalbard and encountered a little-known Russian town in the middle of what should be NATO territory.

I was disgusted that the @thespectator1828.bsky.social printed a whitewashing of the Tate bros, reportedly a pair of rapist scumbags. As the not gullible-at-all Freddy Gray wrote: “I can’t help believing [that they’re innocent]”. Funny that he don’t take the time to talk to their victims.

The Russians hit Lviv, close to the Polish border, hard with drones this morning. Saw this from the train, massive clouds of smoke.

So excited by this, an Iranian wine made with grapes smuggled into Armenia where they’re fermented and bottled. Human ingenuity and determination at its absolute best.
