Work in data tech. Probably listening to 6Music with a cat demanding food. Manchester, UK.
Something that's really struck me over the last few months, particularly the last couple of weeks with the great weather, how few streets actually get direct sunlight at street level.

I've seen other people link these feelings to having kids. I don't have kids, but for me it started in the pandemic. I can't watch nordic noir or anything bleak these days. It sits with me afterwards for a little while and that isn't a place I want to be.
There's more pleasant ways to spend my time.

Porto to Régua last summer was about €10.50 each way. About 90 minutes, and once you reach the Douro River, some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe. Take one of the trains with the old Swiss carriages and the windows fully open to maximise the view 😍

I've loved hearing Robert Caro being interviewed on @99pi.org , as part of their reading of The Power Broker. Genuinely moving to hear his reaction to people being interested and understanding the book 50 years after it was published.

I never heard it in south Manchester, but my wife's from Milton Keynes and introduced the term to me.

Listening back now (three times back to back 🫣), also really loving the opening track by Disco and the mid point track by Persecution Complex.

At the time, think my favourites were Dweeb, Midget, Kenickie and Symposium.

Couldn't remember this one, but played the album tonight, and after the first couple of bars, oh Yes! I remember this 😆

I like it here because it makes me feel less alone. Twitter is for fighting and Instagram is for bragging. It’s refreshing to see people having friendly conversations on social media.

Trying to remember if I first heard of Kenickie on the And The Rest is History compilation. www.discogs.com/release/6492...

Looking at the dates, I think I must have been a fan already before that.

I've got a couple of .org domains and a .org.uk. How do they compare to. net? 😆
Should probably set up one of them on here...
