I think another point is that if you are a company director - as these flat owners apparently were - then you need to be aware of and assert your rights and responsibilities. It's a minefield, and bona vacantia is a hazard many people don't know of.

Agreed. And the old person, maybe in care, who hasn’t got/can’t use a smartphone? The edge cases are many and non-trivial.

Could be a PVD. It’s either A&E now or first thing tomorrow or go to optician (walk in) first thing tomorrow. Opticians should have a local rota for urgent eye tests eg they may send you to Specsavers. You need an optometrist to look at your eye - these are the people in the back room who do 1/
