I love making pokemonesque creatures out of puns and various concepts that go together. And now the line is complete. It could appear in a game if you'd be fine with that (and if I managed to design enough creatures, at least 50 more for decency's sake).
A design reminiscent of a rubber duck that looks like it's carved out of a potato half, with oars for wings, named Argosling.

A hasty pencil sketch of a creature signed "Duckshund" in the shittiest handwriting you'll ever see. It's long and has a front paw of a mammal and hind leg of a duck. Also a duck's tail and beak, although the silhouette could also be of a dog's muzzle. Its tiny flappy ears have the texture of tiny wings. Its neck is longer than what a creature of this size could support and has an awkward little bend. Its one visible eye is weird.

The pun decided the design... (Plutarch + archangel + Pluto aka Hades) as well as the culturally logical Ugly Duckling evolution. As I've checked, Plutarch came after Plato, so the pre-evolution needs to reference a predecessor of Plato's. And this is the insufferable nerdy way I design creatures.
A haughty-looking dark-bodies duck/swan in flight. Its wings are like a butterfly's in shape, with upper wings made of bunches of potato leaves with an occasional flowers, and the lower wings are intended to be semitransparent like an insect's with rootlike patterns. It has crown-like potato sprouts on its head and two pronglike feathers on its tail, symbolizing the bident that Pluto/Hades supposedly has. Its wings sprout out of shapes that are like both potato and egg and are supposed to be golden, reminiscent of both golden eggs from fairy tales and the underground god's wealth. There are eyes in the flowers and on the wings, and the body is half covered with flowing clothlike texture.

I wish I stopped reading Ender's Game series before I discovered the author was a natalist that assumes every female character wants to have as many babies as possible and all humans live exclusively to leave progeny. Male authors that don't describe characters' boobs are still untrustworthy.
