Wore my Oscar the Grouch hoodie to the Halloween parade at Sesame Place yesterday. Oscar spotted me, pointed, and waved. Grouch recognizes grouch.

Giddy to spot this marvelous game in the wild. #TheCunningFolk hanging out in good company at Games Unlimited in Pittsburgh. Here’s hoping these copies find their way to homes that enable them to cause all sorts of good mischief! @emilygreymoore.bsky.social

Presenting the four cardinal directions my mental state can swing in at any given moment.

Updated my profile picture so I figured I’d post this with a better view of the shirt itself. Got it because it reminds me of the god awful fishing shirts my Pappap used to wear (of which I have inherited two and they fill me with joy).

Naturally I got a haircut two days after this.

Left to my own devices today, and so my Hobbit tendencies kicked in and I did some gardening. I am now ten pounds lighter from sweating half to death and the sun still got to my dumbass self despite reapplying SPF 70 multiple times.

Worth it.

Things have been a bit shit lately, and so new ink finally happened. And I absolutely love it. 10th Street Tattoo - Mike Cip did amazing work.

Breakfast tomorrow may include Ibuprofen, but tonight I feel like I could conquer the world. Managed this and 275 minutes of exercise, putting me at 300% for my Exercise goal as well.

Proud of myself.

Took this picture because 7 loves dinosaurs and I like sending him fun pictures while I’m traveling. Didn’t realize until this morning how the sign combined with that makes for a hell of a scene. Wonder how labor-intensive it is cleaning up after a service dinosaur.

Sharing is caring (and I love supporting local businesses that ship). The spice blends used, both purchased from the incredible Steel City Salt Co.

Date night this past weekend. Joined a group of Mrs. Bourbon’s friends to see a friend in his comedy/magic show - which was incredible.

Told myself I was going to get up and see the eclipse, and here I am having done so. It was rather magical to behold.

Meeting/pseudo-professional Snark vs Airport and Ready to Go Home Snark.

Another minor inconvenience to add to the pile. The zipper jumped the track on the back compartment of my Messenger Bag of Holding, then the zipper itself tried escaping.

This only feels worse because the pile of things going wrong is colossal and exhausting. So it goes; and so on.

Yesterday was exhausting and today was busy, so tonight seems like a good night for a froofy, fruity drink. Cheers.

A Cheshire grin of a crescent moon amidst tree branches, which I should’ve taken as a sign of mischief to follow.

Now that I’ve removed my tie and I’m well on my way home:

The obligatory pre-meeting mirror selfie because I’m a fucking dweeb but I clean up nicely.

Playing with colors and shapes and slightly monstrous manifestations of everyday things.
February 13, 2025 at 2:27 AM
I asked Mrs. Bourbon to give me a shape and color to play with. She went with triangle and yellow, and this is where that blank page from earlier went.

It’s by no means perfect but I’m happy with it and that’s rather the point, I think. Anyway, that’s one fewer blank page in this sketchbook.

Come on, brain. Stop overthinking shit and just put something on the page. It shouldn’t be this difficult.

Am I capable of trying something without throwing myself into it entirely? No, unfortunately I am not. That applied to getting back to regular exercise and it applies to getting into drawing/sketching.

Got myself a nice sketchbook. Now to actually use the damn thing.

A moment from last night’s walk seems like a good place to start here.

Close encounters with local wildlife. I have a picture of a bluejay I took a few years back. The bluejay was several steps away, on top of a rusty chain link fence that surrounds my neighbor’s yard, but the moment of it just being there was its own kind of magic.

A moment from today’s hike. Mrs. Bourbon was ready to get rid of this so I stashed it in a spot along the trails near my house. I like stopping by to visit it on my hikes when I can.
