I'm somehow sad that Paolo Uccello(1397-1475) isn't alive to learn Blender. He would use it to make wonderful stuff.

"but you can obviously see its all miniatures". Yeah sure, but how lovely is it that in those sequences the shots of actual people are wide and filmed from a high angle as if the actors and their environment are miniature scale as well.

I have witnessed Mothra (1961). Absolute fever dream of a movie. Example: a then famous pop-duo "The Peanuts" star as doll-sized fairy priestesses. At some point the giant Mothra larva spins its cocoon, which is peanut shaped. It gets roasted by atomic heat rays. This is REM-sleep level imaginative!

To be clear: Miike is one of the greatest of all time. On the topic of fashion in film, Ichi the Killer is iconic. Michiko Kitamura did the styling for that one. A Jojo reimagining would need someone of her calibre to do the source material justice.
