reflecting on my past therapists in chat at 1:30am.
My therapist wasn't as well versed in all queer stuff, but she was very open, non-judgemental, and really eager to learn things from me when there was something she didn't know much about. Two big ones kind of introduced her to were polyamory and asexuality (which I'm not, but my friend is), and she was very committed to learning more about them. Like I said, I was so lucky to have her. It sucks that I haven't found someone like her since... but after my experience with her, I have hope that I'll find another therapist I vibe with someday. I have to have hope, really. Forcing myself to remain as hopeful as I can despite my life experiences and The Horrors of being alive in our world right now is one of the things she had a hand in teaching me. Staying hopeful is the least I can do to thank her.
