"Return hubs" risk being found to be unlawful for starters, but they are also totally inhumane, and massively expensive. We could be investing in our own country, our own infrastructure, to ensure we support everyone better. Instead Labour wants to dump people and leave them in limbo elsewhere.

10/10 to Keir Starmer for diplomatically managing Trump

10/10 to Anneliese Dodds for having integrity

0/10 to Labour for choosing to cut development aid to the poorest people in the world instead choosing to fund a rise in defence by applying a wealth tax on those with more than £10m+

Labour promised lower energy bills – so why are they rising again?

BBC’s Steve Rosenberg reports from Russia that JD Vance’s speech at the Munich conference “has gone down well in Moscow.”

That alone should tell you everything you need to know about the speech and what the Trump administration really stands for.

America!

The exact same Think Tanks and money behind Trump were behind Brexit. Literally the same people.

Simply put, everything in the UK now costs 3 or 4 times as much, billions were stolen and everything not nailed down was given to the 1%.

Buckle up.

It's an intentional economic crash.

Who knew Biden could have just stormed into the White House, handed a friendly billionaire the keys to all the federal buildings, fired anyone who might have voted for Trump and imposed the Green New Deal, police, gun and voting reform and Roe v. Wade by force, without barely a peep from Congress.

Exactly Grace, and this is why billionaires like Dyson support authoritarian governments like Singapore. They benefit from the inequality enhancing policies in place. Singapore famously has few rights for workers. EG poor or non-existent working time rules and strikes/unionisation are illegal.
"Culture war politics provides a kind of Trojan horse for billionaires like Musk, ensuring the election of rightwing governments that can sneak in inequality-enhancing economic policies through the back door."

If there is truly a major shortage of skilled tech workers in the US, why did Tesla lay-off over 7,500 American workers last year — including many software developers and engineers at its factory in Austin, Texas—while applying to hire thousands of H-1B guest workers? www.foxnews.com/opinion/sen-...
SEN. BERNIE SANDERS: H1-B visas hurt one type of worker and exploit another. This mess must be fixed
Let's be clear: Multi-billionaire oligarchs in Big Tech should not be allowed to hire guest workers to fill entry-level and mid-level Information Technology jobs.
