Burkina Faso’s Parliament passed a law on 2nd September 2025, first approved by President Ibrahim Traoré in July 2024.
Offenders now face 2–5 years in prison and fines for “promoting homosexuality.”

We stand in solidarity with queer people in Burkina Faso.

This brings us to a broader, urgent point: Uganda desperately needs needs comprehensive sexuality education. Adolescents are growing up in a world where they encounter conflicting messages from peers, media, and society, often without reliable guidance.

UN renews crucial human rights expert mandate on sexual orientation and gender identity. The Independent Expert on protection against violence and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) will now be able to continue the work for three more years.

Why celebrating pride is important.
Pride is awareness, Pride is resilience, it's simply expressing and existing together as a community.
It's solidarity for many people who can't celebrate or march.
Pride means refusing to be erased and choosing to simply be who you are.

Pepe spoke at Univ. of Paris-Nanterre on April 10, invited by ADUH & STOP Homophobie. He addressed LGBTQ+ criminalization & urged centering queer voices in legal work. Cited SMUG v. Lively case & was proud SRT reports he coordinates were referenced by scholars & advocates.
