An oddly beautiful thought, although I wish Schopenhauer could have seen beyond suffering.

I am sure that The Saint of Bright Doors is a brilliantly written book. I have not been able to read it as the author indicated his support for the sentiment that the mass murder of over a thousand people was "a significant moment in the psychological war."

This explanation from Dave McCarty (who was one of the people managing the Chengdu Worldcon) raises more questions than it answers. What are "the rules we must follow" in question?

This is a book I was actually looking forward to, but I don't know if I'll ever read it, given that the author retweeted justifications of the mass murder of October 7 (and blocked me for asking him why).

It appears to be a tweet celebrating the event of that mass murder as a "significant moment in the psychological war."

These children, one from Gaza, one from Nir Oz, are dead now. I'll be working for a future where this doesn't happen. Not looking for moments to celebrate one death or the other.

We are not our accursed governments. Yet you retweeted the following on the other side immediately after the mass murder of 1400 people, who were not their government. Why?
