Hello, indeed there is no brain microbiome. There is infection and plenty of contamination (&bioinf. issues). Short-read metagenomics is inherently messy and controls/good tools/sanity checks needed! PS I have analysed>200 mg datasets from brain tiss. from patients where neuroinfect. is suspected.
