don't know anyone else who actively enjoys the playstation wrap-ups 😭 but i think they're fun

Shadows in the top spot doesn't surprise me, that game has A LOT to do and the DLC definitely made me log a good 20 extra hours.

The money spent on the Translation Movement for some translations is estimated to be equivalent to about twice the annual research budget of the United Kingdom's Medical Research Council. The best scholars and notable translators, such as Hunayn ibn Ishaq, had salaries that are estimated to be the equivalent of professional athletes today. The House of Wisdom was a library established in Abbasid-era Baghdad, Iraq by Caliph al-Mansur in 825 modeled after the academy of Jundishapur. During this period, the Muslims showed a strong interest in assimilating the scientific knowledge of the civilizations that had been conquered. Many classic works of antiquity that might otherwise have been lost were translated from Greek, Syriac, Middle Persian, and Sanskrit into Syriac and Arabic, some of which were later in turn translated into other languages like Hebrew and Latin. Christians, especially the adherents of the Church of the East (Nestorians), contributed to Islamic civilization during the reign of the Umayyads and the Abbasids by translating works of Greek philosophers and ancient science to Syriac and afterwards to Arabic. They also excelled in many fields, in particular philosophy, science (such as Hunayn ibn Ishaq, Yusuf Al-Khuri, Al Himsi, Qusta ibn Luqa, Masawaiyh, Patriarch Eutychius, and Jabril ibn Bukhtishu) and theology. For a long period of time the personal physicians of the Abbasid Caliphs were often Assyrian Christians.

2025 was a stacked year for games, with a LOT of GOTY contenders, but Expedition 33 soars above the rest as not just the best game of this year, but one of the best video games I have ever played

It's not what I'd call a "perfect" game, if that even exists, but man, it gets pretty damn close

Been playing Expedition 33 (very late) and I've been blown away by this title

I normally *really* don't like turn based RPGs, they're just not my thing, but this game does it in such an engaging way that makes every victory feel so damn good

And that's just one of MANY things I love about the game

Those 83 hours blew by, I loved every second of this phenomenal game. I explored every inch of the world, reveled in the combat, laughed and cried with the characters, and got lost in the beauty every step of the way

To this day, Ghost of Tsushima remains the most beautiful game I have ever played

There are games I enjoyed more or left a bigger impact on me, but the artistry on display in Tsushima...man it's such a special experience

Yōtei is shaping up to be much the same, Sucker Punch never misses
