Texting with bestie about the snow & of course I have to reference the Blizzard of ‘78 when, bc drifts sealed us in at both doors, we could only open the back door just enough to hand her a very flat shovel & that tiny 8 y/o, who had trekked through 3-foot deep snow from her house, dug us out #mawx

2 week update on the scrap box tidy: down to a bunch of jelly roll strips (2 1/2” wide, ~42” long) Tedious work but I’m in the home stretch. Listening to 3 different audiobooks on rotation 😆 #Quilting

Woke up very down. Trying to boost my own morale, I repotted 5 lil houseplants. I’m hoping getting my hands in the dirt works inside, in January. We’ll see. 🌱 #FlowerReport

In keeping with my keyword for 2026, Morale, I set up a second birdfeeder. This one uses seed cylinders which don’t need replacing as quickly as the loose seed, & it attracts different birds. While the wren, nuthatch, .& downy woodpecker will use the seeds feeder, they like this one better 😊 🪶

Well I’m always mid-quilt! Recently finished a batch of these coasters with fabric I made with a photo I took
January 11, 2026 at 1:37 AM
For example here’s a throw quilt I made a few years ago using 2” & 3 1/2” squares in medium value with unbleached muslin as the background. If I didn’t have the little squares already cut & sorted I never would have made this & it’s my mom’s favorite, she uses it every day 😊

New years tidy: I have a huge box of fabric scraps I will press and trim into 2”, 2 1/2”, & 3 1/2” squares, or into long strips no narrower than 1 1/2” wide. Then I’ll store them by size and color, also value. If I leave them in the box I’ll never use them but this way they will make it into a quilt

Was in a terrible headspace the last two days but seeing this as I left my studio helped.

Swept, scrubbed, set back to rights. This is where the caregiver sits during his shifts so I’m sure he’ll be glad to have his space back after being displaced by a tree for 5 weeks

Anyone else taking their holiday tree down today?
