I'm taking the scenic route. Maine, USA. #travel #food #justice #democracy #politics #maine #disneyworld #steelers #uswnt #usmnt #scifi #space #universe #solar #ev #climate (in no particular order...)
Been trying to find other versions of the report--it does not say if they have identified the possible suspect, or the person they shared an image of earlier that they said was in the area at the same time as the person (and I guess they hoped he had seen something). Very big difference!

You know I hates me some Philly sports teams, but ya gotta love Gritty.

Ok after posting that I wondered if said bookstore was here on Bluesky and then found them and noticed you follow them! 😀 @printbookstore.bsky.social in Portland ME.

Soon you will not say hi because YOU are the one who is too tired.

Here, fixed it...

You're close, but we don't need social scientists now. The LLMs ARE the social scientists. All good!

This perspective (that red states are 100% MAGA) is so wrong and counterproductive. The red vs blue state thing is simply bad framing. With a couple exceptions that are more like 80-20, most reliably red states go like 60-40 or even 55-45. SAME WITH MOST BLUE STATES.

Shhhhhhh! No one say Epstein until after 4 pm tomorrow!

Respectfully, Karoli, y'all (the chorus of people cheering this) are getting this wrong. This is an R district that will very likely now have an actual R win it. Golden often may not have voted how we'd have liked him to, but he was a seat in the D column. That will like be an R moving forward.

This is an R district. Having a D in there is a win even if he votes R on everything. Golden stepping down is (likely) a loss. I hope I'm wrong. I hope a less Trumpy D candidate can win this district. But I live here and I find that very unlikely.

I just read through comments on a FB post from a colleague who is not overly political but definitely conservative. She was complaining about the cost of her health care going up. The comments were about 3-1 *blaming* Obama and Obamacare.

At every one of his press conferences, every reporter should have a list of the last 6 months of things he wasn't aware of or hadn't seen. Ask him follow ups on the things he wasn't aware of months ago. Is he still unaware? Is he grossly negligent?

And in Maine, yes, it was wrapped in blue collar *white* guy. But back to the lesson--stand up for what we friggin' believe and say it loud and proud. Stop tacking toward the right out of fear. Other candidates (without totenkopf tattoos) can still learn this lesson in Maine and elsewhere.

Don't let Platner obscure the lesson for Dems. Before his true colors were revealed, he was building real excitement and momentum *because* he was saying all the things Dems are afraid to say—anti-oligarchy, pro universal healthcare, etc.. Wrapped in a blue collar hard working regular guy package.

NO KINGS EXCEPT PLUMBING KINGS!
October 21, 2025 at 2:51 PM
Not a "is he worthy" comment--a "can he win" comment... Southern Maine Dems will largely vote for ANYONE not Susan Collins. 2d district Dems and Reps (Trump land) will likely support Collins, but will go to someone like Platner much more than they did for out of state transplant Gideon.
