I mostly cycle, run, walk and crochet in the High Peak, with added multiple sclerosis content. Some say I should have a link to something here, but I've come up with nothing!
My #MSFriday rant (didn't feel very musingesque today). If you're going to ask how I am and when I reply that I'm really really tired you're then going to tell me how tired you are, just don't. Let's not have that conversation.

My #poemfortoday was from a paper book, not online. CK Williams "the mistress". It was somewhat ouch. Britannica website describes his work as vituperative and I wish that word which curls off my tongue is one i could casually sling into conversation.

Crowded train, woman muttering about seats. I am sitting. I am ready to whip out my disabled railcard if there's any nonsense

The guy in the local to work take out knows I have the vegan option and I am so happy to be noticed. My 57 year old woman invisibility cloak usually prevents this kind of thing. He is an asset to his employer

When my late husband was home for his last days, because he wasn't alert and talking very much, so he could hear my voice, I read to him. I kept it simple. The Fairy Caravan by Beatrix Potter. You never know how much time is left, and 20 years on I have not finished the book.

It's that time of year. Saturday was twenty years since my husband died. He was young, I was young. Today would have been his 67th birthday. So my annual go to poem is my #poemfortoday ee cummings "i carry your heart with me (i carry it in)" www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazi...
[i carry your heart with me(i carry it in]
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling)                                          ...

Safe to say it’s very Autumn now!

The yellow front of this Northern 156 looks right at home surrounded by the trees on the Esk Valley line!

I really don't like the "One Derbyshire" plan of Derbyshire County Council. I can't see how it can be anything other than a funnel sucking all the huge county's resources into the city of Derby. At least my local councillor seems to be representing my view.

Genuinely delighted to download a PhD thesis from a university repository where the author has neglected to remove the words "BITCH THIS IS YOUR THESIS" from the filename.

Dude with an off lead long haired retriever coming towards me and Uz Dog (on lead because he's a 9 month GWP and has exactly the recall you'd expect). Guy asked can they say hello but his dog had already recognised a soul mate and bounded over. They had a great time, well matched in size and style.

My #poemfortoday is Lemn Sissay's Applecart Art. I have one of his books, and hadn't heard it spoken before. Not actually sure which I prefer. There's place for both spoken and written word. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xzj...

My #MSFriday musings are mostly pondering whether the fact I haven't heard anything from my September MRI means all's fine or if it just means nobody has looked at it. I guess I'll contact the MS nurses again.

I am so excited about a work thing I do regularly, but where I've found a one off creative way to spice it up, that it's so exciting I will not tell my boss because he has a way of crushing ideas into a million tiny pieces. I may tell him after it has happened.

Gently saying I opted out of dessert to a dinner organiser because I like her and she has a bloody hard job and she doesn't really need to be guilted by me being dairy free and none of the desserts being that way. Also, I don't need dessert, it's not an issue.

In the kind of mood where I've put the arm rest down on the train seat so I don't get potential wet clothing overflow from a fellow passenger should one choose to sit there.

Prepping for the catch up and learn your views like my future job depends on it. Which it may. Heading down a traditional route of shit sandwich. This is great, this is not so good but this is how I think it could be awesome, and this thing too, this is fab. This was super once and could be again.
