This thread hits. My generation of cousins, mix of boomers, Gen Jones, Gen X had it ingrained in us that we succeed. Our parents had gone further than their parents. We were supposed to go further yet and give OUR kids even more of a shot. Drilled into us from birth.
I have a... confession? Nor confession, I don't know. But I want to share something I'm struggling with.
So 1. I think I speak for other Black X'ers when I say we have a complicated relationship with capitalism bc there were money making opportunities available to our gen that weren't before.

And I hear and understand the folks saying it becoming wealthy on a certain level means buying INTO white supremacy, but again speaking for my peers, we were taught about getting in all the rooms you can and playing the game so you could change things from inside.
