Leaving this post up, but adding a note to clarify- I had not read the thread that this is the lead post of when I posted the above.

And you’re right, I should have looked for a thread instead of reacting to a single headline post.

The Ugly Laws, a series of state laws at the turn of the 20th century, banned disabled, mentally ill and unhoused people from public places. This + other eugenic law like forced sterilization and interracial marriage bans were such comprehensive body of legislation the Nazis studied and cited them.
