And we must remember that although most people feel that they are in a minority who want climate action, we are actually in a majority of around 69%.

Speaking up about your values and your actions has power to help narrow this perception gap.

We have the technology we need, we have the energy we need. Now we must balance these innovations with care and wisdom.

The polycrisis we are accelerating into, is at its core a crisis of thinking and values.

Thanks to @blueearthsummit.bsky.social for a great Summit.

@mikebernerslee.bsky.social used his keynote to ask:

If the world shifts to a sustainable economy, is that an opportunity for your business? Shift your business model until you can say yes!

We're proud to be one of 48 organisations across health, food, farming and sustainability calling on the government to adopt this 10-point plan to reap the benefits of plant-rich diets.

Would more plants in our diets be a good thing for us as a nation?

It would give us:

🩺 Improved health and reduced burden on the NHS.

🥕 Stronger food security by growing more fruit and veg in the UK.

🚜 More jobs and a boost to farm profits from expanding horticulture.

Our team Away Days took us time-travelling, walking in our client's shoes, and sharing our superpowers.

We're sober about the future with climate, nature and society all facing possible tipping points. But hopeful about how we'll help others to adapt, evolve and thrive in a more sustainable world.

The climate doesn't care how many renewables we have - only how little fossil fuels we burn.

@mikebernerslee.bsky.social explains why making things more efficient increases the amount we use.

The aviation industry, technology providers, and academics are already working in partnership,
researching and trialling solutions - Contrail Impact Task Force a great example.

They want to engage with policymakers for actionable, impactful policies fairly across the industry.

Reducing contrails costs just $5-$25 per tonne of CO2e.

The best-case cost for sustainable aviation fuel is $185 per tCO2e.

And sustainable fuels (which are never really sustainable) are unlikely to meet demand at the scale and cost needed by 2050.

Research has shown significant reductions in contrail warming can be achieved for less than $4 per flight ticket.

3/5
January 16, 2025 at 12:11 PM
Small adjustments to just 1.7% of flights paths could reduce contrail impact by over 60%.

Contrails are more likely in cold, humid conditions. Technology is already in place to predict contrail formation, reroute flights and monitor effects.

5 things you might not know about contrails and their impact on the climate ✈️⛅

Full report: www.sw-consulting.co.uk/_files/ugd/f...

Contrails cause 35% of flight climate effects over 100 years. But reducing them now could reduce flight climate emissions by 50% by 2040
