Let’s do dumb stuff in cars. On a weekend that I’m not at Thunderhill helping a friend’s race team.

It can’t be any worse than G-Savior.

I’ve made questionable life choices.

Obviously I have some opinions on the matter, most of which I'll keep to myself. The two that I will share are...

- The trial was effectively decided in Jury selection.
- It was REALLY interesting watching two attorneys work through their first criminal trial.

Interestingly, both of the attorneys were fresh, passing the Bar this year. This was their first time flying solo for the District Attorney and Public Defender's offices.

The Judge asked us to hang around a bit after dismissal to give feedback to the attorneys. Frankly, that was pretty neat.

The Prosecutions corroborating witnesses, Mr. T and Officer P only further subverted Mr. G's testimony, calling into question Mr. G's recollection of events during that altercation.
November 20, 2025 at 7:54 PM
Mr. G's was not a reliable witness. He offered differing accounts of events during his testimony. The statement, "I think he drew it, but I wasn't going to wait and find out." after describing that he'd turned to retreat into a store did not help to prove the fact.

The prosecution relied heavily on the Single Witness's Testimony Rule to prove the fact that an firearm--real or imitation--had been brandished. (ie. Mr. G's testimony)

Cutting to the chase, we found the defendant not guilty.

TL;DR - The prosecuting attorney failed to present strong enough evidence to instill an abiding conviction that beyond a reasonable doubt the alleged crime had occurred.

Some fun notes:

- Jury Selection took 3 days.
- Presentation of evidence and took 1 day.
- Jury deliberations took 30 minutes.
- Post trial interviews took 60 minutes. (More on that later.)

This was a criminal trial in which The People (i.e. the DA's Office) alleged that a Mr. H brandished an imitation firearm, a misdemeanor offense, during a parking lot altercation with a Mr. G.

For sure, the optics are shit but consider that historically, Toyota has donated pretty much equally to both major US parties, buttering their bread on both sides.

Corporations should be banned from donating to candidates and PACs.
