SLR 2025 11/11: We wrapped up 2025 w/Tony Molina's LONG-awaited new album "On This Day," which continues Tony's effortless transformation of timeless folk/rock, 60’s baroque pop, intricate classical guitar interludes and jangle pop into perfect pop gems.

SLR 2025 10/11: The Telephone Numbers' "Scarecrow II" takes in influences as disparate as late Replacements reflection, Byrdsian jangle, 80s/90s college radio vibes and Go Betweens-esque pop elegance, all wrapped around lovely, literate tunes. A deep listen!

SLR 2025 9/11: The Cords LP must be the indiepop album of the year, a thrillingly fresh re-thinking of classic C86 fuzz pop that skirts mere revivalism with its boundless energy, youthful invention and sheer force of personality. Need more from Eva & Grace!

SLR 2025 8/11: It was brilliant to get to share the return of Allo Darlin' with you all! AOTY contender "Bright Nights" is overflowing with warm, rootsy folk-tinged pop that is a most welcome next step for the band. Some much-needed comfort and humanity right now - lovely.

SLR 2025 7/11: Manchester's Autocamper are solid faves of ours and their debut album “What Do You Do All Day?” is a 10 out of 10 showcase for the band's timeless charm. Non-twee DIY indiepop that sits closer to early CRE and FN than C86. Thrilling, vital and downright fun.

SLR 2025 6/11: Jeanines' "How Long Can It Last" is a blast of concise, angular pop full of sneakily catchy melodies and wry turns of phrase. Raven Sings The Blues said it "feels like the band coming into their own, inhabiting the vision in its fullest form" and we agree!

SLR 2025 5/11: Lightheaded's "Thinking, Dreaming, Scheming!" was released in June but it's the beautiful indiepop LP that we need right NOW. Striking the perfect balance between scrappy jangle and classic soft/folk/baroque/pop, Lightheaded just get better and better!

SLR 2025 4/11: The long-awaited reissue of Lunchbox's lost early 00s psych/space/dub/pop masterwork “Evolver.” Experimental analog pop, jangle/psych/mod and dubwise analog studio flavors. With a vinyl-exclusive 4th side of loops, grooves and aural oddities.

SLR 2025 3/11: The Pains of Being Pure At Heart continued the celebration of the 15th birthday of their stellar debut with "Perfect Right Now," a crucial companion that compiles scarce b-sides, split single sides, and other classic early Pains rarities.

SLR 2025 2/11: The Laughing Chimes' "Whispers in the Speech Machine" spikes their paisley jangle with rust belt vibes and post-punk atmosphere. Bursting with melody and drama, it's a bold next step for the band and we can't wait to hear what's next.

Raven Sings The Blues on the new Tony Molina album "On This Day." Yep, it's pretty great.
"...the record just might be his biggest sounding yet, draped in pop embellishments, and swerving through the signposts of the sixties like faded memories."
