I think they genuinely don't understand how bad it is. They think "polls last decade said people want immigration enforcement, so ICE has to be fundamentally good, but people keep disliking ICE, so it must be a marginal effect, and we can use this to say that we'll manage the secret police better"

Realistically, we're already about on par with OPEC production - meaning that if our companies lower prices significantly, they'll be doing it for nothing. We lower prices when we have to compete - we don't have to right now, so at best prices will go down maybe 10 cents/gallon.

I agree with you. I advise you drop the "I couldn't care less" part in future rhetoric. It's a common malapropism. And it's an obscure reference. The picture of his face drooping is more than enough for anyone that cares to believe their own eyes.

That was my first thought (because defense has to be there whenever prosecution is, right?), but it being witness counsel and not prosecution was enough for me to think there might be a nuance I didn't know about

Basically wants to cut out the "snitch" - I'm guessing, but I'm not a lawyer and I don't know how ex parte with the state's witness' counsel is supposed to work
