Well it doesn't completely stink–
Accepting something you did during #LifeDrawing at #FantomComics in DC, still doesn't mean you're satisfied with it. Never will be. Ugh.

Praying I get it right–
Time is fleeting, and even with a longer 15 min pose in #LifeDrawing at #FantomComics in DC, you worry about getting things correct. I see the mistakes, always will. NEXT!

Reach for it– Again, it's a simple forward #LifeDrawing pose at #FantomComics in DC, but with the legs, foreshortened head, and outstretched arm… all make this a good challenge.

Have faith–
I was worried they would drop their arm after a while during this #LifeDrawing pose, but rock solid at #FantomComics in DC.

Back off–
Just because my #LifeDrawing pose at #FantomComics was dominated by a back angle, didn't make it "easy" or "useless". The foreshortening, the form, the proportions… all are a challenge.

Simplicity sells– Especially during #LifeDrawing – A simple, clean pose, that's held well, is always a good challenge. Don't underestimate one as a model, or artist at #FantomComics in DC.

Are you imprint certain?
Said it before, but if you haven't done a #LifeDrawing pose before, be realistic about your ability to hold it. A reclining position requiring one to hold your head up off the ground… ain't gonna happen. A slightly dull pose is better than a constantly changing one.

Fold it like a batter–
Also based on a pic, and it became mostly about the drapery. A lot of pics posted seem to be "boobs ahoy" lately, don't know why that is? Never really went in for that, but ok, let's do that.

Devil is in the details– Many artists practice problem areas, like hands. Newbie #LifeDrawing models often bring a book, but a page turn requires finger movement, and they never return to their original position. The job is dull, sorry, but remember many artists are practicing hands, so… STOP IT.

No parking or standing-
Except when posing during #LifeDrawing - when like a car, you shouldn't move.

Your mom know you dress like that?
#NonLifeDrawing based on image from the www, guessing she was in #cosplay as a sexy elf for Halloween?

Ready, set, pose– It isn't easy being a #LifeDrawing model, and people don't know this until they try it. They invariably move, and when it's a clothed/draped model, not only does a movement shift their body position, but folds change, and never go back to their original look.

What about…? I've started taking pics I see online, and treating them like a client sketch; expanding on them. I won't post the originals, because it's not an art challenge, but rather a spring board to work off of.

A Prince among Super Boys - The nice thing about cosplay models in #LifeDrawing at #FantomComics in DC? It's easier to sketch with a brush/pen, as there are folds with high contrast shadows, where as skin seems odd to me when rendered in ink.

Not so much–
Never got her face right, and the last 15 min. #LifeDrawing pose still didn't help. I wish I had just focused on using pencil, and a tone paper would have been fun (like I used to do). Maybe if she comes back, I'll get another chance. One can only hope. It was a fin session.

Closer?
As I said before, never did get Gazelle's face down correctly. Even with a longer #LifeDrawing pose of 15 min., I spent too much time on her features; causing the lack of rendering.

November, already?
Gazelle gave us this reclining shot, and it was a fun one for me. It always amuses me when the people around me grump over a pose. Isn't #LifeDrawing the time to practice the difficult concepts like foreshortening? I didn't get it all correct, but still enjoyed the challenge.

Halloween?
Aren't things scary enough? Distractions help us cope, and #LifeDrawing is one of mine. Here is Gazelle again, and this was a 10 min., so a little more rendered out.

Struggles–
Gazelle made it easy to enjoy the #LifeDrawing session… but I could never quite get her face. She had an athletic build, and her poses emphasized it; with challenging twists. This was one of her "basic" poses, but even here I felt pressed for time.

Rare privilege-
As mentioned, the new #LifeDrawing model (Gazelle) was amazing, and she mentioned being booked 6 months in advance. It was a fluke she managed to pose for us, as she had a rare cancellation. I hope to have the pleasure again sometime soon.
