as a side note - this post makes it sound like you aren't including the Hmong population as part of the immigrant community when they are a very large part of it, especially in MN. I know that probably wasn't your intention, but it's how it reads.

i don't know, but I trust the immigrant candidate to handle immigrant issues more than the rest. she is one of only two candidates (the other being Yan Chen) who supports not only continuing St. Paul's status as a sanctuary city, but doing more to expand protections.

only starting her campaign in August and managing to win is incredibly impressive. if it were only rich white people voting, it wouldn't have happened. I am optimistic that she will do more for the city than Carter did.

as a st. paul resident, i'm confused as to where you got any of this information. she is an ally for the LGBTQ community and immigrant community (coming from a refugee background herself), pro public housing and rent control, pro gun control, pro choice, pro mental health care, and more.
