both theo and mara would have an equally bad time if they got swapped. yeah they’re both devoted self sacrificers who are actually really scared and wish they didn’t have to sacrifice anything at all.

if you put ametrine in erinome’s shoes the death rates of potential heirs would either sky rocket or plummet, depending on which faction got to her first.

One of my favorite tropes in media is when dreams, hallucinations, or fantasy worlds mirror elements of the 'real world' in abstract, metaphorical ways.
It’s even better if the 'dream' was real all along, but the characters aren’t aware of it.

i just think that "we hate each other but we love the same person and want what's best for them even if it means having to work together to make that happen" can be a fun thing to explore
