Hello person with poor conflict resolution skills, it is I, John Conflict, here to get into conflict about said skills.

I have written down multiple suggestions and found resources detailing the basics of conflict resolution.

Surely this will go smoothly

Today @TheNewYorker released our short documentary “Rovina’s Choice” online.

It traces the ongoing effects of the sudden shutdown of US foreign aid through the story of one mother in Kenya as she seeks to save her daughter from sickness and starvation. 🎥 1/ www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...

As someone who grew up counting every last SNAP dollar, this is intentionally cruel.

Trump has the money to provide full SNAP benefits during the Republican shutdown—and he's choosing to let families struggle.

Hungry children deserve full bellies. Not crumbs.
BREAKING: The Trump administration says SNAP will be partially funded after judges’ rulings required the food aid program to continue.

I made my students a little “book” (just using Google slides) to show them how you all answered my question about how you take notes for research. Just to show the variety.
How Do Scholars Take Notes?
How do scholars take notes? I like seeing examples of different people’s notetaking, so I asked scholars to show me how they take notes for research.

Vesta Tilley (1864-1952) was an English music hall performer, and one of the best-known drag kings of her era, with a long career that lasted from 1869 until 1920.
She performed her first season in London in 1874.
Please note the smile when on drag: that is queer joy.

Looking at #Danandphil or #RTgame and noticing that these are creators who actually managed to get a large following and generally positive communities. That internet spaces can be better through example and outright saying "that's not okay."

I'd be on BlueSky more but there's just as much transmisogyny here as Tumblr, the shitposts aren't as absurd, and it feels a lot more stiff.

I like queer people who are unafraid to talk about kink, politics, and absurd humor is the best way to describe it. Less of that here

This does nothing to make our community safer. The Trump Admin's goal is to stoke fear and cause confusion. Kristi Noem went to Elgin not out of concern for Illinoisans, but because she wanted to make a propaganda video. This is a performative stunt. Shameful.

There was essentially zero coverage of the disabled protest to stop Medicaid cuts. Capitol police dragged protesters out, many in wheelchairs, and arrested 34 people. It was barely a blip on the news because nobody really cares about the disabled.

Please use ALT text on your protest photos.

Disabled people are left out of non-disabled activism. Accommodations are not made. Intersectionality does not apply. We aren’t invited to participate. We have to fight for ourselves.

Leaving ALT off your images leaves disabled people out yet again.

Section 504 is an important law that protects disabled people. Texas v. Becerra is a court case where people are asking the court to get rid of Section 504, which would hurt a lot of people. You can read about it and learn how to help with this plain language explainer:
