Currently watching Trigun Stampede - 1st time I've ever rewatched an episode just to better hear the soundtrack (Ep3, originally watched it on a noisy train). Really beautiful music ❤️ Not 100% taken with the 3DCG animation style but the piano scenes are 🔥🔥🔥

I always thought it was just me! I drive an estate, and SUVs with HID headlights not aligned properly means I get them pointed straight in my eyes. Trains have to have HID headlight alignment checked so they don't blind trackside workers, IMO alignment checks should be added to the MOT for cars.

Video: a Japanese scientist was attacked by flies while giving the acceptance speech for his Ig Nobel Prize-winning research paper that proved painting Zebra-like stripes on cows led to a decrease in biting fly attacks.

For some perspective, 1,680 football pitches is 0.018% of UK protected land. To say that temporary HS2 construction sites are visible from space is desecration is insane. On google maps a dinner plate on a table in my back garden is visible from space.

My 2nd lake sturgeon (again, Wisconsin River) was a little bigger than the first, and a lot less serrated. Someone said it looked like I was about to rip into a wicked solo, and someone else made it happen. #25DaysofFishmas #sturgeon #acipenser

HUGE NEWS. I went from elated to devastated but now I’m elated again because…

A Colleague in Greece confirmed it this little fish really truly is called Booooops booooops. Not BOH-ops BOH-ops like the wiki article suggests.

LONG LIVE BOOPS BOOPS!

I've been to meet the truly remarkable botanist Dr Margaret Bradshaw.

The 98-year-old has been recording the flora in Teesdale for decades and we talked about plants, legacy, and how the area has adapted to a changing climate.

Beavers and red deer and black grouse, oh my!

For the next 6 days, all donations to the Surrey Wildlife Trust's heathlands campaign will be DOUBLED.

Follow the link below... and reskeet.
Readers (both of them?) who've read my novel THE DEVIL'S HIGHWAY will know how much the remnant heaths of Surrey mean to me. They could become a home to beavers & other rare beasts - if the Surrey Wildlife Trust can raise £100k by Christmas. Please chip in if you can.
One Hundred for Heathlands | Surrey Wildlife Trust
As part of our £1million fundraising drive to Save Surrey’s Nature, Surrey Wildlife Trust is fighting to restore our spectacular lowland heathlands for wildlife and people.

If silent feathers are the 🦉 prerogative, noisy feathers are a common adaptation in many birds & it is the Snipe’s version that I like best. During the breeding season, male & female Snipe make a far-carrying humming during diving flight, the source of which puzzled ornithologists until ~1850.🌿🌏🧪🧵1/
