We had free market private health insurers before the ACA. People couldn't afford insurance then, workers can't afford rates negotiated by employers, ACA rates can't be afforded even WITH subsidies by many, so we have no reason to expect free market "negotiations." I think Americans are realizing that democracy is a participation sport, and the the government is ours if we want it to be. I feel like we got complacent and hoped some other third party would do the work for us. Seems like we have to learn that lesson every generation.

Our president is illiterate and inarticulate. His "facts" are misleading, at best. Even those with RAs, unless they are actually retired, cannot access their RA until eligible, which means that "wealth" is illiquid. Many with RAs do not have balances adequate to afford their pre-retirement income.
