In addition to olive oil potentially get more $$ we need to talk about equipment. The world’s best olive mills are manufactured in Italy 🇮🇹 Think the Apple or Microsoft of our industry. Domestic producers will suffer financially when equipment arrives at the port. This is how global trade works /4

I spoke to the NYT about how tariffs would impact prices last winter. Olives are slow growing crops and even if you planted millions of trees today you would not meet the demands of US consumers. This is because the olive oil industry was built over THOUSANDS of years. It’s not a tech company. /3

The Mediterranean basin produces most of the world’s olive oil, with Europe producing a whopping 60%. Spain leads in production followed by Italy and Greece. Production even after everything is up. And if tariffs go into affect so will prices.

I’m an olive oil producer in Italy 🇮🇹 The price of olive oil has been increasing due to:
1. Increased demand, folks love EVOO
2. Climate change, droughts have plagued Spain/Italy
3. Greedy corporations, prices of warehousing and doing biz have increased
And now 4. Tariffs

Being a perfectionist in your writing is the default setting for new writers. We all start that way. But when you’re building a house, you don’t paint it as you go. You lay a foundation, build a structure, put in the wiring & pipes, build the walls and lay the floors, THEN you can think about paint.

I deeply believe that walking is the best “free” form of medicine. But what would make it even better is walkable neighborhoods. Because a walk with the end destination a coffee shop would be the cherry on top.

I am concerned that moving to a new app can create an “echo chamber”. But does that even matter when the other option is subjecting yourself to madness?
