Here are my favorite albums that were released in Q3 (July/Aug/Sept) of 2025. As usual, I only include albums I liked enough to buy on vinyl or CD. Q3 was a bit lean for me - I listened to quite a few more albums than this that just didn’t grab me strongly. Overall though 2025 remains strong!

So after my first listen, I think the new Spock’s Beard album is fabulous! The self-titled epic is really awesome, that, Next Step, and Afourthoughts were the standouts for me after listen #1. It’s both thoroughly modern prog and classic Spock’s Beard at the same time. #SpocksBeard @spocksbeard.com

Steve Hackett @stevehacketthq.bsky.social and his incredible band were absolutely fabulous last night at Joliet’s beautiful Rialto Square Theater. Such a treat to see Nick D’Virgilio in the drum seat, and Steve was in excellent form with some truly exceptional solos. Awesome show as always!!!
