First listen, the ever imaginative Hauschka (Volker Bertelmann) and ‘Philanthropy’ (2023, Bandcamp). I have a few albums of his, always interesting, always pushing on the door of experimental but always finding ways to remain melodic and engaging. This is no different. Excellent album 💿😎

One I really quite fancy getting a hold of. Anyone read, or intending to?

Late night listening, the excellent ‘Damage’, Sylvian/Fripp (1994, 2001 remaster CD). Deeply satisfying album 💿 single disc but long enough to get lost inside 😎

Home, so now for a completely changed up vibe. Into the Dixie Dregs collection (second set of which) containing ‘Dregs of the Earth’, ‘Unsung Heroes’ and ‘Industry Standard’ BGO (2014 2 CD Remasters). Great music, excellent audio 😎

On rotation today, Yosef Gutman, ‘Melodies of Light’ (2022) and ‘Resisei Lyla’ (2026), Tidal. Just so beautifully relaxing, feel like being carried off and away from today’s groundhog day shit weather 🌦️

This was great! Big band jazz, fusion, urban, all kicking off but tastefully held together with some style 😎👌 Alfa Must, ‘Variables’ (2023, Tidal)

Another beauty from Yosef Gutman. ‘Resisei Lyla’ (2026 Tidal) just chockablock with flavour and textures, great early candidate for #aoty

Another wonderful album to finish up tonight, Nils Petter Molvaer again, ‘Solid Ether’ (2000, Tidal). Where jazz and modern beats make for some wonderful moments 😎

Diving in again, ‘Lost in Abstraction, Remixes’ (2023, Bandcamp) Amanda Whiting 😎

Loving this, ‘The Liminality of Her’ and ‘Can You See Me Now?’ (2024 & 2025, CD). Album and EP combined. Devastatingly good. Spiritual modern influenced jazz with pinpoint melodies driving everything beautifully along. Audio is deeply satisfying. 😍

Nils Petter Molvær, ‘Stitches’ (2021, CD). Hard to get enough of this one. Experimental boundary pushing and slipping the middle digit to genre conformity, all whilst sounding superb and picking up certain strands where Miles left off 😎

Newly arrived from Edition Kohlstedt store. Seemed to be only place available. ‘Feld’ (2023, CD). Wonderful album, for me the one of his I play most these days. Neo classical makes way for electronica, a beautifully crafted result. New album ‘Kluft’ on pre-order too ✅

Some more retro kit. An old Kenwood HiFi system (not my photo), early 90s. I really like this as it was compact, and had good sound for the cost. It wasn’t that expensive and blagged some speaker stands with it. Sadly stolen from my then accommodation couple years later.

My old Aiwa Walkman from the 80s. Loved this thing, very compact it was, auto-reverse and dolby NR. Eventually it packed in but was superseded by a compact CD player. This went everywhere with me. Good bit of kit. Anyone else have anything like this …?

Only familiar with this one so far, and it’s great. ‘Public Works and Utilities’ (2025, Bandcamp), Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan. I’ll be diving in for more sometime soon. Seems there’s a fair bit to explore 😎

A beautiful album for a horrible morning. Wet, windy, yet again. Hania Rani cheering us up with new soundtrack album ‘Sentimental Value’ (2026, Bandcamp). This was lovely, really enjoyed it front to back. In for more. Hania always releases music of some quality 😎
