Excellent new album run through from Ghost Rhythms, 'Missing Times' due to be recorded in the studio in December and released next year on Cuneiform label. Sounds excellent to these ears 😎

Last night’s late listen, Yazz Ahmed and ‘A Paradise in the Hold, Remixed’ (2025, Bandcamp), regular re-visits to her albums with remix issues thereafter, always of interest. 😎

Bit of Mogwai in film noir mode, ‘Special Moves, Live in Brooklyn, NY, 2009’ (DVD, 2010). The b/w film suits the vibe 😎
November 23, 2025 at 12:23 PM
Back into dream electro pop if Elsehow and ‘Afterimage’ (2025, Bandcamp). Obvious comparison to Sylvian due to vocal style and arrangements, no bad thing 😎

Nice chilled release from Fabrizio Paterlini, ‘Layers’ (2025, Tidal Hi-Res). Haven’t played anything of his for some time and need to catch up with recent releases, this being latest. Piano, electronics, strings, all well composed and tastefully presented 😎

OMG this is absolutely superb 👌
Snarky Puppy latest, ‘Somni’ with the Metropole Orkest. I think this could be their best release and some. Outstanding compositions, sonically amazing, and then the players, all of them just killing it ✅😍. (Tidal, Hi-Res)

The Bairns eh!

Correspondence from Xavier Gélard of Ghost Rhythms, and this one is on its way from France. ‘Spectral Music’ (2021, CD). Getting this from Cuneiform label just way too expensive with US postage etc. Looking forward to it’s arrival 😎👍

I thought the 10cc and Weather Report biographies were good, but this is right up there, probably topping the lot, and yet only part of the way there as much more to go. What an incredible career which makes an incredible read 😎

Blue Öyster Cult with one of THE great live albums, sonically just superb, and covering that essential early BOC sound and making it even more raw/powerful, ‘On Your Feet or on Your Knees’ (1975, CD), from the monster box, Columbia Albums Collection 😎👌

Had this on cassette, bought in Our Price, Swindon 1991. Bought a CD copy for £1 as kind of missing it. Was played to death on the car stereo. ‘The Complete Picture, the very best of Deborah Harry and Blondie’ (1991, CD) 😎

Morning dog 🐕 walk, finishing off yesterday’s mammoth listen ‘HHH’ and today, ‘Thoughtographies, Live at Sunset’ (2022, Bandcamp). Fantastic stuff again from Ghost Rhythms 😍

Another of those incredible pastry imperial stouts from chums at Vault City. This time it’s the ‘Toffee Nut Latte’ which I am sure will taste every bit like the aforementioned description! 😍 They always do …

Ghost Rhythms with ‘HHH’ (2018, Bandcamp). Subscriber archive collection of studio/live takes, that has been added to since first release with material including up to 2022. A great collection, and one I need to finish tomorrow as only half way through this huge set 😎

Latest from Girls in Airports (with Halvcirkel) augmenting with some strings. Folk, ambient jazz with some really lovely textures (2025, Tidal) 😎
November 21, 2025 at 1:04 PM
So, just finished S1 of this one. Nuts, but compelling fun, we’re definitely up for next S2 should that be in the pipeline (pretty please 🙏)

I’d say this one is even better … my earlier post

Alex Skolnick Trio ‘Prove You’re Not a Robot’ (2025, Tidal, Hi-Res). Another great outing, the title track is so infectious and grooves, others see fusion mash-ups with Tom Petty and Chick Corea. Tight band and compositions, well worth a listen 😎

So far so good, so went in deeper, and this time to ‘Live Underwater’ (2024, Tidal), where Elsehow (Piero Delux) gives up a live set of old and new, joined by Siegfried Meesters on percussion. Ambience, electro-pop ensues. Really enjoyable 😎
November 20, 2025 at 5:23 PM
This was excellent, Elsehow and ‘Afterimage’ (2025, Tidal Hi-Res), Sylvian like vocals, with some quite superbly crafted electronic ambient/dream pop. Very very nice indeed and just as you might imagine it to be 😎
November 20, 2025 at 5:18 PM
With the mighty A Winged Victory for the Sullen, and the excellent ‘The Undivided Five’ (2019, CD). Wonderful chamber orchestra ambience of incredible beauty, resonance and power. ‘Our Lord Debussy’ kind of sums up their sound 😎
November 20, 2025 at 11:31 AM
Still luxuriating in its magnificence 😎
The 2025 compilation 2 CD release. Superb

Mrs H and I enjoying a bit of samurai sword action with ‘Last Samurai Standing’. Completely daft, but very enjoyable, one episode to go, and it has hooked us in very well indeed.

Back into this one, 'Madeline' (2015, Bandcamp), from Ghost Rhythms. A beautiful, really engaging soundtrack designed for 'Vertigo' as the band's own take on a favourite. Recorded live in 2016 as 'Vertighost', looking forward to getting a chance to experience it synched with the film 😎
November 19, 2025 at 1:11 PM
Absolutely mad fun here, ‘Dr Phibes Rises Again’ (1972), accompanied again by his ‘Clockwork Wizards’, the best horror film jazz fusion band around 😃😎 Love the sets created for this, art-deco 70s style Egyptian tombs. It was mental first time around … still is
