Vietnam was the first, obvious, example that troops could be asked to support and die for a lie and when enough people said 'no', they incorporated the draft to force you to die for an action you knew to be unworthy.

What happens to a good person when asked to do bad things; manipulate logic & our innate sense of what is right & wrong, what are American values & what are not. What happens to your soul when asked to act against your own conscience? What happens to your soul when your demanded to do bad things.

That was so much fun, though.

This begs the question; why do 'good ol boys attack good ol boys'?

Of course. Same said for the officials. When a player screws up, theres a penalty. When an official screws up, theres nothing.

I think you're right. I'd just moved to Utah from NewYork and was having a really hard transition. He said some very helpful things.

I rode the ski lift with him at Park City. I was 13 (1968) and didn't know who he was. We talked about how beautiful it was to ride up & look at the mountains, almost as cool as skiing down. Later, dozens of women told me who he was. For me, he was just a nice adult who actually listened.
