There's a great big complicated story behind how I ended up taking this shot but I can't reveal it...

A favourite shot from a favourite shoot.
We were commissioned to photograph a STEM activity that had been touring Scotland showing primary school pupils that Science & maths can be fun.
It was indeed fun & the pupils had a brilliant time. Hopefully a new generation of scientists has been created.

What did you get up to at training tonight?

One of those Skye days that down South would have a storm name but here it's called a Thursday in November.

The Scottish Optometrist of the Year -Hanna Einarson.
As photographed by us for Optometry Today Magazine a while ago.
The award couldn't go to a nicer person. Not only was Hannah a joy to photograph she is the official Skye Commercial Photography optometrist.

I think this is the Late Great Senior Assistant's ultimate Dogscape.
Can you spot her?

Technology moves fast. Phone cameras are getting better & better by the minute so pics from old phones quickly look dated. That's a shame.
We should ignore the medieval pixel count & enjoy pics we took on clunky old kit & thought were pretty cool at the time.
They still are.

Late Autumn light is the best light...
It doesn't matter what camera you use, it's all about subject, composition and light. This was taken with the cheapest, most basic Canon DSLR. The one we use to annoy napping dogs...

Some breakfasts are worth shouting about.
Two enormous bacon ciabattas with token vegetation. Lovely.
The best way is to show just how good everything you do is with the best images on your website and social media.
That's where we come in.
Info in our bio...

A big part of being the Skye commercial photographer is the utterly random nature of the job.
Asked to be on-set photographer for a film - the one thing the production company didn't explain was it's genre or content - & I start by photographing these charming nuns...

Our daughter, in 2023, placing a poppy on the grave of my great uncle who died on the 1st day of the Battle of the Somme.
We think she is the first member of our family to visit his grave.

Lest we forget...

We photograph the best of Skye.
This is a warm, welcoming window scene from the rooms over-by Eileen Iarmain Hotel in Sleat.

You may enter politics to serve the community then you find yorself on a typicaly Skye Spring/early Summers morning opening a new path at the Quirang.
The wind & rain are relentless, sheep are passing like tumble weed & you may decide that the community can help itself...

Remember, at Sligachan on the Isle of Skye there is a dress code. Maximum flamboyance is demanded.
