I don’t often get to visit the sea, which only makes the times I do more special.

Some random ramblings…

There is something about shaving. On one hand, I don’t like it. The effort. The mixed results. The fact that it still feels like a thing only guys do. The quiet background hum of dysphoria even when I only have a bit of stubble.

Anyone have tips on finding queer/trans friendly spaces? I’m traveling right now and would love to find a cafe I can chill and do some work in that feels safe and inclusive.

A useful infographic showing the full impact to current missions from the proposed budget cuts.

Everything here sucks, but “19 active inflight missions canceled” is really a highlight. Scrapping active missions is such a colossal waste of time, money and energy. Not to mention killing off the science those missions would generate.
Four charts showing the extent of cuts to NASA in the FY26 budget:

- Cuts to every science division
- Smallest science funding since 1984
- 19 active, inflight missions cancelled
- Smallest NASA budget since FY 1961

This news has me thinking about the whole “separate art from the artist” topic.

Honestly, I think this is pretty strong evidence that it is impossible to do so. In this case, any engagement with the art that results in the author getting paid directly funds the removal of trans rights.
J.K. Rowling is using her wealth attained from the "Harry Potter" series to create an organization dedicated to removing transgender people's rights "in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces.”

I have been getting back into photography, and am particularly pleased with how this one turned out!

Have been watching some content on the new Marathon.

On the one hand, I adore the aesthetic, and am curious about the lore. On the other, extraction shooters are not really my thing…

Is it just me who is hungry for more story focused sci-fi rpgs?

Just finished This Gilded Abyss and loved it!

#booksky any recs for a next read? I’m looking for something sapphic, with a good dose of adventure. Sci-fi would a plus! Hoping to avoid anything super angsty or dark.

New Mars sample return mission concept from Rocket Lab! It’s got some interesting ideas (ballistic landed return capsule), plus I just find these fun to watch.

People who have played Hades 2, is it worth getting in its current state, or should I wait for release to get the “full” experience?

NASA Astrobiology on Twitter had a really cute gif of Perseverance Rover waving to Europa Clipper as it performs a Mars flyby on March 1st. It's too good to not share it here. Kudos to the artist! Perseverance will actually attempt to image it during the flyby.

Okay, so for those who know about such things, is the Pilot Kakuno a good fountain pen for someone starting out?

Just (re)discovered fountain pens and I am increasingly tempted to get one. Journaling with one sounds far nicer than my usual ballpoint.

We need more women protagonists in games. You know that majority of games force male lead on you and I don't see a valid argument for it. It should be balanced 50/50. Not 90/10.
