We do not have to look very far back in our own past to see other examples. In WW2 the WRA used words like “evacuate” and “relocate” and the majority of the people forced into these places were US citizens.

The WW2 internment of Japanese Americans included about 70% US citizens (out of the total of 120,000+). Many of the rest did not have a path to citizenship under the racist laws in place at the time. If you want to be further sickened, read the Supreme Court decision “Korematsu v. United States.”
