NG4, cont. UT's are nerfed in this game, which actually makes them feel more engaging this time around. Still accompanied by i-frames, but you won't get several instant kills off of them. The game plays like a dream, a really smoooove dream. Wish there was more of it, but can't wait for the DLC.

NG4, cont. Now time for the great. Yakumo is fun as shit to play as. Every weapon is fun for its own reasons. Blood raven form kicks ass and opens up so many options. In-fight movement is as smooth as ever, homing flips, enemy step, shuriken cancels on every weapon.

NG4, cont. Gleam form contains the function of Yakumo's blood raven form, without the extra engagement of summoning an entirely separate weapon. I miss directional and on-landing moves, but the current gameplay design ~mostly~ makes up for their absence. Platforming/movement is 'press R2' slop.

#31: Ninja Gaiden 4. I love this game, let's start with the negatives. The dialogue and cutscenes are fucking terrible, with no option to mute chatter. Why aren't we just making sick scenes with cool fiends and fights? Ryu also only has the dragon sword, and gleam form isn't really all that engaging

#30: Ball X Pit. I have always loved breakout and I will never be silenced! Ok, so this isn't really breakout but it's close enough and I love the little guys (and combination of little guys) you play as, and the ball types are really fun. Cute art too. Just one more run.

#29: Toree Saturn. Toree evolved baby! Still incredibly short, but expanded mechanics make this the best version of 3D sonic-style platformers I've played. Really want an expanded version of this, but I'm glad we have what we have. Thank the Toree god!

#27/28: Toree 3D/Toree 2. Omg yayyy. I love this little guy and his fast ass run. Cute platformers you can finish in an hour. Highly recommend if you want something bright, fun, and cheerful.

#26: Bullet Witch. Ok, it's kusoge, but I know it could work if you let me force 10 people in a room to tweak it. Give me a million dollars and we're cranking out the coolest remake ever conceived. Definitely played as a curiosity but sometimes that's just how it's gotta be.

#25: Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom. Fucking incredible. Making such a strange movement system so fun is a feat. Love the art direction, level design, gameplay design. Firing on all cylinders and never letting up. Favorite 3D platformer at this point??? Maybe!!!

#24: Hades. Finally took the time to play Hades all the way through the story. Really glad I did, great weapons, upgrades, and enemy design. I liked the idea of the side stories a lot, but the requirements were either esoteric or simply didn't trigger for the ones I was interested in. Still great

#23: Warriors Abyss: Had a real musou hankering in the back half of this year. Tons of unique characters, but certainly the least developed roguelike I've played in terms of encounter design. Somewhat expected. Fun to just do a 30 minute run with a random character. Good enough for what I paid!

#22: Rise of the Ronin. Assassin's Creed game where movement actually felt good and the combat was the forefront. Open world with great env design (the level design can suffer), but the combat design is so solid it kept me hooked. Also it let me have a boyfriend who said he'd take me to America.

#21: Shinobi|Art of Vengeance. This game feels so good to play. The platforming they ask you to do can be pretty difficult and interesting, but I wish there was a harder combat mode. The combat is fun and fluid as all get out but if you're used to systems like this it will be a breeze. Still great!!

I was going to try to play it using this resource but it just seems like such a hassle. I was holding out hope for about 2 months when DQX offline was announced :(
