Test basing on my test model
These really thin bases are so nice that I think I’m actually not going to do black base rims for once, the brown helps them look a little more blended into the environment
Could maybe use a little more something but this is all I got for now lol

Oh I also played some more Pillage! Good fun, and the buildings are super useful with their removable roofs. I need to get some cotton wisps to properly represent them being set on fire lol
I’ll have my actual warband ready soon-ish so these games will look more accurate eventually

Somewhat productive weekend results in a full workspace
Assembled the models for my beginner game warbands, and the victrix market set, and some wattle fences, plus I plainted a pair of archers for the beginner warbands
I also put magnets in bases to prep for priming but it’s too wet for that rn

Still needs basing, but I’m waiting on a local store to get in those nice recessed bases wargames atlantic does for puddle bases. Which may force me to forgoe my usual rule of only playing with complete models, I want to see these anglo-saxons on the table!

Great fun, makes me want to paint my saxons that much faster.
We played two games but I forgot to take pics of the first one, started with pillage and then did a pitched battle. 600g and 900g respectively, 3 hours of gaming, very brisk pace!

Painted a spearman and the Chief of my Pillage warband, figured it’d be good to get the chief done so I can use the painted models ASAP even if I don’t have the full group done up

If there’s ONE thing that bothers me about the Pillagw rules, it’s that you can’t use a Javelin and a shield at the same time at range. That’s like, a javelin’s whole thing!
They even have models in the rulebook doing that, right next to the rule!
