The Las Vegas 500k was the last IndyCar race that the stock-block Menard V6 led. Not with Team Menard, but with John Paul Jr. in this '93 Lola.

The race distance for the inaugural #Indy500 was determined based on an estimated distance that could be covered from 10:00am to late afternoon. Would it be too outrageous to suggest lengthening the race to 1,000 miles to align with the founders’ original concept of a 6+ hour race?

If the new #IndyCar must be designed by Dallara, why not have two competing designs, like March having two design teams for 1990 - one for Alfa Romeo and one for Porsche?

The first #F1 race I watched was the 1998 Australian GP. Seeing how dominant the team was that day, made me a #McLaren fan. Lando and Oscar remind me of that lineup of Mika and David who raced together at the top. Congrats to the team, it’s been a long road to get back here!

Bobby Rahal was my favorite driver when I first got into #IndyCar. Too bad I started watching regularly in 1995, so I never saw him win a race! He came close a few times though.

One final stop that I was excited about: “Riverside International” had two vendor spaces per the map. Any hope that it was a revival or historical society of the famed track were dashed when I found out they were a retailer of massagers. 17/

Finally! I see a real Indy car. Thanks to the Long Beach GP for bringing out this DW12, the only one at the show. Although it would’ve been weird if they hadn’t, being owned by #IndyCar and all. 16/

So then I head downstairs to the basement hall where all the vendors and random exhibits are. Right off the escalator, I am invited to enter a contest for free tickets to the Long Beach GP! However, I backed out of it not wanting to provide all my personal details. 15/

Alas, there’s nothing remotely close to CART at this exhibit. There is this polka dot Mini from Damien Hirst which is kind of reminiscent of the Randy Owens art Indy car from 1994! 14/

The room that usually has the Porsche exhibit is now hosting the art cars of West Coast Customs in collaboration with… CART??!! Wow that’s even a CART #IndyCar throwback logo!!! 13/

What did #Ford bring to the auto show? Trucks. Lots of trucks. Not even a NASCAR. Come to think of it, I didn’t even see a single NASCAR from any auto brand. Is auto racing dead? 12/

The #Porsche exhibit got moved to the mezzanine area instead of its own hall where they’d had it for many years. This former #IndyCar team unfortunately didn’t bring their Porsche 2708 Indy car or any of their Marches, but I enjoyed this Rothmans, excuse me, “Roughroads” racer. 11/
