The premise that it is comparative is the part that isn't real, yk?

No like the fact so many of us have these stories is a part of why I feel I have to say my experiences were minor. If half my friends and loved ones have been sexually assaulted in ways that were more violent or traumatic or lengthy or whatever, then yeah, my experience is comparatively minor.

No like I feel as though I can't say I endured sexual assault or social murder without prefacing it without saying they were minor and postfacing it with "obviously saying it was minor is silly and inaccurate and etc etc etc"

I recently described Jazz by Toni Morrison to a friend as "my future 2nd favorite book" because I saw a blurb for Plastic, Prism, Void on like... the Barnes & Nobles site
