Wow SPSS added this awful highlighting feature to EVERY ANALYSIS OUTPUT with no way to turn it off. Why would anyone want or need this feature? So obnoxious.

Every time I have to peek back at SPSS for something I am so glad R exists and is free lol.

We found that a staggering 85.71% of violence hot spots in Richmond were regions that previously belonged to redlined communities (i.e., those labeled as C or D by the HOLC). These findings were generally consistent across study years with some small variation.

We utilized data from the VCU Health hospital in Richmond, VA specifically on violence-related injuries in adolescents between the years of 2022 and 2023. We utilized GIS tools in R to conduct a geospatial analysis based on these data using the city's official shapefile.

My daughter is officially able to count to 10. To celebrate her advanced numeracy I gave her her first lecture on the general linear model!

IDK who needs to hear this (these authors, I guess) but there is ZERO chance they actually found that the Tangney BSCS and Buss-Perry AQ correlate at r = - .96. Would love to see the scatterplots.

Has anyone ever noticed that the SUPPS-P items in Cyders et al., 2014 have the wrong reverse coding scheme?

For example 3/4 of the lack of premeditation items are marked as reversed but *none* of them should be when using OG anchors.

I wonder how many papers have used that scoring...

This is middle school level data wrangling. Why do columns have different units...why are there two columns with different names but the same data? I thought these guys were good at coding or something. This screams "I can barely use a GUI".

Evidently a google AI product is creating synthetic versions of mass shooters that are apparently seeking conversations with real users...

I don't even have the words...Oh wait yeah I do - what the fuck?!

We also conducted simulations to examine how ignoring the random item slopes in the self-control/aggression relationship may inflate the risk of Type-I errors.

The risk of Type I error indeed increased as a function of N when random item slopes went unaddressed due to underestimated SEs.

We found that random item slopes were present in the association between self-control and all 4 facets of trait aggression. Focusing in on physical aggression – few of the item-level slopes (in blue) match the association between self-control and aggression at the aggregate level.

Okay so I learned that Bing's new image creation AI is wild and will make almost anything. I told it to make me images of Noam Chomsky fighting Jean Piaget and man...I was not disappointed at all.
