The Badlands National Park in South Dakota, USA. I drove out there from Ohio and was hit by a distracted driver, my car is probably totaled. I was able to rent this Jeep for the days I was out there. Here's a rental Jeep in the Badlands. #FotoFriday

Look closer. It's the same color/shadow as an architectural feature (molding) beyond his head. Look at the line in the molding and see where it continues in the shadow up to the shape of the hat. I've drawn a line on the second image here to show the edge of the hat.

It's one of his white "USA" hats. He's in shadow and it's a pixelated image so it looks weird. Look closer.

It's one of his white "USA" ball caps. It looks weird because it blends into the background in shadow, but you can see the shape of it if you look closely.

Hat is normal. Photo is pixelated so it's hard to see, but look closely and you can see the shape of the hat apart from the background.
