A beautiful campaign in the windows of Gilead Life Sciences. A far cry from the public service messaging of the 1980s with the tombstone which terrified me as a teenager. It's testimony to reasearch into, and campaigning about HIV, leading to HIV treated as a chronic disease with stigma reduced

Yesterday I was proud to take part (as a governor) in the 2025 graduation of higher education students from Barnsley College. The college plays a vital role in raising aspirations and enabling access to learning and quals in the town and wider #southyorkshire region @danjarvismp.bsky.social

I found tonight's @theguardian.com Live event with @ledbydonkeys.org inspiring and uplifting. Realising that there are still progressive and empathetic human beings out there brave enough to take action when injustices need righting/ calling out, was the tonic I needed.Now a new micro-donor.

If you enjoy walking but want some circular routes which are easy to navigate ( and, importantly, finish at a cafe) check out the @yha #YHAWalks as part of their Festival of Walking. Oscar and I covered part of the Wales Coastal trail at Manorbier yesterday.

#greatnorthrun completed and money raised for @make2ndscount.bsky.social . I have to say the run was harder than expected, and by mile 7 getting a 'good' time was less important than finishing. Thanks for all the support

The best part of my job is getting out and meeting members of the @make2ndscount.bsky.social community so yesterday I was delighted to spend the day at Mid-Kent Golf Club with Andy & Sarah Lewis. They set out to raise £20k this year but will smash that. Thank you!

I'd lived in #Lichfield for 18 years but never visited the Erasmus Darwin Museum until today. Ahead of his time, Charles Darwin's Grandad had progressive ideas on feminism, canal lifts and origin of life to mention a few topics. Considered to be the Leonardo Da Vinci of 18th Century.

An interesting table in @theobserveruk.bsky.social about maths and English GCSE passes for students who receive free school meals. If you are interested in practically helping these kids, why not become an @actiontutoring.org.uk volunteer tutor? I love it.

It was a pleasure to be part of the audience for the inaugural lecture of Prof. Sue Sherman at Univ. of Sheffield. Sue continues to do great work in understanding barriers to HPV vaccination and cervical screening and how barriers might be removed with focus on patients @ashleydaltonmp.bsky.social

We are pleased that capivasertib (Truqap®) plus fulvestrant has been recommended by NICE as a treatment for metastatic breast cancer patients across England today. This is good news as it provides another option before chemotherapy, delaying the toxicity on a patient.@make2ndscount.bsky.social
