The coolest thing I’ve seen today is that a bunch of volunteer public health professionals and developers have restored the CDC website from before January 20th 2025.
This differs from an archive in that they want to rebuild the links between pages and replicate the full website.

I just canceled @newyorker.com, replaced with @meidastouch.com Their stories pushed me over: Texas BBQ, Edward Gorey, Led Zepplin, a rape trial. Nothing on democracy's collapse. For me, Texas = human rights violations and women dying for healthcare. We need media to stop playing like all is normal!

As I read about the brutal firing of Joy Reid today, and Alex Wagner and others losing their shows... I'm happy I redirected my $$ to alternative media.

I read something helpful recently. When you're considering whether to take an action (in my case probably something politically right minded but inconvenient) ask yourself... "what if everyone (fill in the blank)...?" Really useful when you're debating whether your one little action matters. ❤️

I just canceled Audible and am working on cutting off all things Amazon. It took me all week to work through my almost 200 audiobooks. I am really sad, being from Seattle, I've been an Amazon customer since the beginning. But first world problems! Now I need to transfer my Goodreads content.

I spent my day in the Las Vegas desert today. I prayed for a quiet mind, an open heart and to alleviate suffering as much as I can. I spent no money the past 2 days and gave no eyeballs to the proceedings. Onward!
