i think the real reason we don’t have a female president is because women in politics are rewarded for accumulating power very cynically due to establishment politics being patriarchal but then being cynical doesn’t serve them when they have to ask voters for support.

this is such a boomer thing to complain about but i don’t like it when characters in a fanfic start using therapy speak or getting weirdly clinical about negotiating boundaries. back in my day they would just start doing blood play and bondage without asking. am i no longer the target audience?

look, i’ve used anonymous sources before and i know how access works. but you just can’t just print minimal context for “three sources familiar with the conversation” in an article that reads so much like a schumer fluff piece, at such a politically sensitive time for a mostly liberal audience.

the secret about local elections is that they’re basically sports events. a lot of people can be radicalized and plugged in at scale by being part of a “team” and invested in that team’s success. and investment can be as common sense as “the candidate thinks the government should help people”

i cannot stress enough that if you want to primary anybody then you have to join something instead of shitposting from your couch. zohran happened because nyc-dsa was running local races and often eating shit on election night for close to a decade.
