Trail report: Thimbleberry to Hart Lake and around. Beautiful birds at Nel’s Listening Place. Humpback whale heading towards Whale Park spied from the sidewalk.

Non-trail report: birds I hear and see out my window confirmed by Merlin are Ruby crowned kinglet, orange crowned warbler, Anna’s hummingbird, chestnut shoulder chickadee, song sparrow, American Robin, Raven, Pine Siskin, Eurasian collared dove. Recommendation from me is get your Covid booster!

Non-trail report: birds I hear and see out my window confirmed by Merlin are Ruby crowned kinglet, orange crowned warbler, Anna’s hummingbird, chestnut shoulder chickadee, song sparrow, American Robin, Raven, Pine Siskin, Eurasian collared dove. Recommendation from me is get your Covid booster!

Kind folks heading to Alaska on the Norwegian Bliss offered me a seat in the crowded dining room. Just back from Canada where they described the people as the friendliest. Tony and Kimberly from Lubbock. They don’t agree with ‘what’s going on” in our country. As we parted she gave me this.

Trail report: I came off the trail and saw a big deer standing in the road. It continued to stare at me and the dogs until a large dump truck came from the other way and honked.
