Trail report: sweet walk to Kaasdaa Heen along the Cross Trail. Muskeg flowers are a show. Learned a new common name for the green bog orchid ‘North Wind bog orchid’. Fun one.

Non-trail report: birds I hear and see out my window confirmed by Merlin are Ruby crowned kinglet, orange crowned warbler, Anna’s hummingbird, chestnut shoulder chickadee, song sparrow, American Robin, Raven, Pine Siskin, Eurasian collared dove. Recommendation from me is get your Covid booster!

Non-trail report: birds I hear and see out my window confirmed by Merlin are Ruby crowned kinglet, orange crowned warbler, Anna’s hummingbird, chestnut shoulder chickadee, song sparrow, American Robin, Raven, Pine Siskin, Eurasian collared dove. Recommendation from me is get your Covid booster!
Trail report: New cross trail from Starragavan to Harbor Mtn road. Chilly moist and blustery but still enjoyable. Blue violets, bog laurel, Labrador tea, bog orchids, shooting stars were blooming.

Trail report: Beaver Lake for the win. Great company, good weather and sweet flowers including Pinguicula, Dogwood (bunchberry), shooting stars, shy maiden and bog laurel (kalmia).

Trail report: Beautiful morning with great company of people and dogs. Highlight was hearing baby birds chirping in a hollow tree and seeing their Red Breasted Sapsucker parents fly in to feed them.

Trail report: sunny and still on the way to Kaasdaa Heen with a soundtrack of Pacific Wrens. Saw a beautiful pair of Townsend Warblers.
